Challenges and goals of the website relaunch
Since the last relaunch of the Graz Tourismus website in 2013, a lot has happened. The website has grown steadily over the years. That’s why the biggest challenge was to specify and document the current requirements so that an orderly relaunch could be implemented.
Another challenge was the design, which not only had to take into account all content and functionalities but also needed to be brought up to date. The numerous offers of the city of Graz did not make this very easy, but the result is impressive!
Step by step to a successful relaunch
In September 2020, the specifications for the new website were defined, followed by the successful relaunch of graztourismus.at in February 2022. A lot happened between these two dates. The first point on the agenda: elements collected and documented all requirements and client needs in order to implement them step by step in the further course of the project. In the process, the entire website was revised, including interfaces to the individual regions and separate websites for the Convention Bureau and Christmas in Graz. In addition, the download and press areas were revised, and accessible overview pages, an event calendar and the restaurant guide were implemented.
In addition to the technical components and adjustments, the website also underwent a redesign process. This new design is modular, and the website now boasts a well-structured, clear and informative presentation of all sights, culinary establishments, accommodation options and leisure activities in Graz and the surrounding area. Special attention was paid to usability, so that all website visitors can find the desired content quickly and easily.
Conclusion
All in all, the project was a resounding success. Not only elements and Graz Tourismus are incredibly happy with the end result, visitors will also be thrilled by the new website.
