ZGONC's old website was built in 2012 – and just like many other websites, it wasn't left unblemished by the ravages of time. In 2019, the seven-year itch set in, and the long-awaited relaunch received the go-ahead. The old website had to make way for the new.
During the development phase, the technical foundation was modernized. A design entirely focused on user experience was developed – always with the goal in mind of fulfilling the expectations, needs and wishes of the customers.
ZGONC used the opportunity of the relaunch not only to bring the webshop up to the state of the art but also to create a company-internal communication platform and supplier portal for the direct exchange of product information.

Challenge and implementation
In addition to the day-to-day minor technical difficulties, the main challenge was the large number of service providers involved. Wishes and requirements of existing partners, the search provider, the payment provider and ZGONC itself had to be reconciled and implemented.
Numerous system connections and interfaces were set up – all with the aim of guaranteeing an optimal user experience and easy handling regarding the backend. An increase in the degree of automation makes work easier for everyone involved.
In the new webshop, users can make their purchases online, create shopping lists and enjoy 360-degree animations. It is also possible to reserve products for pick-up at the various stores. An increase in sales and orders just a few days after the go-live proves that the relaunch was a resounding success.
