Optimized UX as the top priority
For the Zugspitze project, it was clear that user experience was a top priority – for guests as well as for employees. The new responsive easy-edit mode facilitates data management and fosters seamless corporate procedures. On site as well as online, guest information systems provide bespoke content – a successful combination of inspiration and information. Features such as webcams, a news ticker, an e-ticket shop and an information portal tailored to the hosts of the region strengthened the website’s position as a go-to location for top-class Alpine experiences. A separate MICE area offers additional services for business travelers.
Inspiring content
Of course, the optimized, technical structure also needed to be filled with top-class, high-performance content. punkt & komma was responsible for this part of the project, developing a thought-out navigation concept with lots of new content.
The website provides comprehensive inspiration on the mountain worlds of Zugspitze, Garmisch-Classic and Panoramaberg Wank. Users can find in-depth information on various topics, ranging from restaurants and incentives, seminars and events (including a separate MICE area) to lifts and cable cars (including tickets), directions, weather, webcams and more. The focus is always on the guests and their needs. A news ticker keeps users up to date on the latest information. Plus, a comprehensive guest information system with info screens supports guests on site.
What are the next steps?
Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG continues to rely on the expertise of elements: In a continuous process, the performance and usability of the online-portal as well as the easy-edit mode (EEM) in the backend, where live data can be modified in real time, will be further optimized. This makes the web presence of Zugspitze an impressive example of a perfect UX for internal as well as external users.
Since its facelift in 2022, the website www.zugspitze.de has been sporting an entirely new look. The project was implemented by the agency duo elements and punkt & komma. gemeinsam realisiert. elements was responsible for the technical setup, optimizing the site’s page speed and performance. On top of that, punkt & komma provided a comprehensive content and navigation concept with lots of new content.
